LIBRARY DIRECTOR

Library Director - New London Public Library (OH) seeks qualified applicants for the full-time position for Library Director.  The New London Public Library, housed in a 1915 Carnegie building in a picturesque Western Reserve village green, services a school district comprised of 6,500 residents in Huron, Lorain, and Ashland counties, has an annual budget of $400,000, and hosts a highly motivated staff of 12 part-time employees, a full-time children’s librarian, and an experienced fiscal officer.

The Library Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the library and exercising authority with regard to personnel, financial management, planning, library automations, expanding information technologies, purchasing and community relations.

Preference will be given to candidates with an MLS from an accredited university but candidates that are enrolled in such a program or with comparable experience will be considered.  Applicants with administrative experience in a public library setting is preferred, but not required.  Successful candidates will possess the ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills, interpersonal skills, and a willingness to be active in our community, including but not limited to an active member of the local Rotary Club.  Experience with the SEO Library SrsiDynx Consortium is also preferred.
