Supervisor: Director of the Library.
Status: Salaried, exempt.
Hours: This position is full-time (35 hours per week) and in-person. Schedule is variable; occasional evenings required.
Qualifications: Experience working in an academic library with ability to use staff functions in an integrated library system. Excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to make effective presentations. Collaborative and collegial sensibility with a strong customer service orientation. Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment, and to advancing these values in instruction, engagement and professional practice. Preference will be given to candidates with an ALA-accredited master’s degree, or someone seeking such a degree and holding an advanced degree in a collection-related subject. Must be able to carry a minimum of 20 pounds.
Position description: The Library Services Coordinator manages circulation desk operations, interlibrary loan functions and course reserves, as well as collection maintenance, and provides general assistance to the Director of the Library.
Primary responsibilities and duties:
- Manage circulation desk operations using Alma/Primo VE software in compliance with OPAL consortium policies.
- Provide patron assistance in person, by phone and via email with reference questions, library website navigation, catalog searches, e-resources, and technology.
- Ensure proper organization of collections. Retrieve, shelve and manage library materials. Support collection projections including shifting, weeding and reorganization.
- Manage OCLC Worldshare ILL transactions and shipments. Process incoming and outgoing OPAL, OhioLINK and Worldshare materials. Communicate with patrons regarding loan requests.
- Coordinate with faculty on course reserve needs. Retrieve and process reserve materials from library collection and collaborate with Library Director on new acquisitions.
- Manage course reserves through Populi, online catalog, ILS and internal tracking systems.
- Schedule and supervise student workers for circulation and collection maintenance duties.
- Assist Library Director with other duties as assigned.
